May 1st and 7th and 11th, 14th & 17th 2016
I wanted to start my education series in this installment…but this Trump phenomenon is simply too frightening to leave under-annotated, and, I will have plenty of time to write this Summer while I am convalescing from double-hip replacement.
The bigger the lie — the more people will believe it…Hitler? P.T. Barnum?? Dick Cheney???
I began writing this proffering on May 1st. Since then I have learned that the Donald has not only behaved presidential on-a-couple of occasions, but that he has also met with Paul Ryan and Megyn Kelly!? And these are not the only new dynamics in play — as both Cruz and Kasich have dropped out of the Republican race leaving Frankentrump (as I have dubbed him elsewhere) the presumptive Republican candidate. I will only watch Megyn and Frankentrump if the Dodgers are losing (again) — so there is a pretty good chance that I will tune in to see how FOX puts lipstick on a pig.
At first I hoped that the presumptive Republican candidate would get \”a Hubert Humphrey\” pulled on him at the convention — so the insanity wouldn\’t persist past this Summer. But I just read an article that suggested the Republicans are-ready-to-get-spanked — so that they can re-group, ala the Democrat reformulation following the Dukakis fiasco.
I, however, have never stopped believing that larger forces are at work — because, as my readers know — I\’m a die-hard conspiracy theorist (and proud of it) — and I\’m thinking that this larger entity is using Trump as a survey index to see just how many Americans will be easily manipulated to potentially spy on other Americans. That will leave 33% of US afraid to ask which side the other two-thirds are on and successfully neutralize US! An online article actually linked \’Trumpf\’ to the Rothschilds — supporting my original Manchurian Candidate thesis: word-on-the-streets is that the Rothschilds want Hilary in-the-White House — now that the Clintons have been properly disciplined through Monica.
Sadly, most-of-us colored by the Capitalist Illusion still believe that the 1% got their money through hard work, sanctioned by god (ye olde manifest destiny and that goddamned Protestant Ethic). A close look at the Donald reveals that all you have to do to be an American billionaire is borrow money; declare bankruptcy now-and-then; and, destroy the dreams of tens-of-thousands — all-the-while — never having to take out that silver spoon. I am pleased that Trump supporters are wavering a bit now that the Donald wants to dip into the GOP war chest; since one of his big selling points is that he is beholden to no one.
Months ago, in my \”Frankentrump\” article, I suggested that the Donald was representative of all that is ugly in American culture. I still feel that way. What did surprise me, however, is how many ugly Americans The Trump Effect has brought to the surface. I mean, I knew they were still here — I just didn\’t realize the number of rabid racists, neo-fascists, and generally stupid people are still occupying American sofas. It appears that there is no shortage of Trump zombies.
The recent face-offs between Trump supporters and the anti-Trumpers here in California was looking Viet Nam ugly. It\’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed…
