I have a little Thanksgiving Tale for my readers, but first:
As most of my readers know — Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year — because it is that time of the year to celebrate Self and Family — the key ingredients to a happy gig for our- time-here-on-earth and to acknowledge others who have contributed their energies to moving us down the line…
I take the upcoming observance as an opportunity to thank my readers for their kind, intuitive and supportive comments. I also thank You for Your words of advice.
And here is the little tale…
When I originally set up The Doctor\’s Inn — I had a dedicated Email set up for my readers who wanted to communicate with me. This Email has served to be more of a nexus for long lost friends and acquaintances to re-establish contact with me (for which I also give thanks).
But a-couple-of-years-back, I began picking up allotta Spam — so-much-in-fact — that PowWeb shut down my site because there was so much Spam in The Inn, that it threatened PowWeb\’s integrity.
When I was taught how to get rid of all this Spam and began emptying it my Spam on a regular basis — I discovered that it all had Asian type face (Chinese?).
And slowly the Spam began to disappear…until about a-year-ago.
One Evening, when I was erasing a-couple-hundred-Spam, or so — I saw English type face instead of Asian?! Upon reading my Spam, I realized that my readers were able to contact me in a way that I haven\’t yet figured out (nor do I wish to). These messages have been wonderful — coming from all sorts of people who have visited The Inn!
I have to apologize to my readers that I can\’t personally respond to your missives to me (because I spend much of my spare time grading and planning lectures and I\’m not even sure how I would go about it); and, I am too Old School to Twitter stuff…besides, there are too many unsavory types Twittering.
Be-this-as-it-may, I welcome your comments — most of them inspire me to try to stay ahead of the learning curve and let my readers stay ahead of it as well; after all, we are all students in Life 101 and will wake up to the same reality on 11/9/16…
I wish You all a Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed holiday season…I send this out to you before November 9th — because whatever happens — The Doctor\’s Inn will remain open for guests.
As for the current Native American struggle happening in North Dakota, one wonders if they will have a Thanksgiving, or just another broken treaty…
