A Theatre of the Absurd definition for those unfamiliar with the genre goes something like this: The absurdist playwrights focused largely on the idea of existentialism and expressed what happens when human existence has no meaning or purpose — when all communication breaks down. They attempted to alert their audiences to pursue the opposite of what was being played out in front of them. In Theatre of the Absurd — logical construction and argument give way to irrational and illogical speech — with the ultimate conclusion being silence (as there is no point in reasoning with Fox Zombies).
And what the Donald has brought to the White House are any number of contradictions — creating exercises in futility, devoid of purpose. Whether he attempts to use his ill-trained family to conduct important affairs of state as he basks in ignorance; or, that he fills key cabinet posts with the people who wish to destroy the planet rather than be custodians of it; or set civil rights back a-few-hundred years — he has removed all meaning to governance of US: We now function in spite of him.
I don\’t want to ponder his defense of Bill O\’Reilly (as just about every journalistic forum has made the proper sense of it) — nor do I want to hear about his stupid tweets anymore — I\’ll leave it to others (like Times contributor Max Boot) to brand him crazy. In fact — it seems like the entire Times editorial board is adopting a revolutionary stance! Some of the Times most recent Op-Eds are so \”anti Trump\” that I started seeing the Donald as King George III — who couldn\’t do anything right by the colonies (George III was also a loon!).
Bill Maher even made an allusion to neurosyphilis on his show the other night!
I can\’t believe that the Republican right hasn\’t already pushed the Donald out and replaced him with (don\’t let women be alone with me) Mike Pence. I wonder if the Donald should ever be left alone with women…?
But when Jonah Goldberg and I concur about aspects regarding the Donald — I know that it is time for me to move onto a new subject. I did think I could make the Donald my writing subject for a number of months — but then I would be betting against myself — as I have made a $5 bet with my step-son that impeachment proceedings would begin sometime by the end of April.
So my writing daze about the Donald are coming to an end: I have more important topics to write about! Like the discovery that Guitarist Ron is alive — and the recent reunion of our old group, EVERMORE.
Meanwhile …in the immortal words of Matthew Arnold…
Ignorant armies are set to clash at night…
Edward Albee! I\’m gittin outta this sandbox and taking my toys — history has taught us nothing…
