Anyone growing up with Hulk comic books — or who has seen The Hulk, Avengers and Thor III movies — knows that the longer the Hulk fights, the stronger he gets: he apparently absorbs the energy from a blow and returns it to his attacker in even stronger fashion!
I\’ve noticed this same dynamic with the Donald! Though he is a person who obviously can\’t \”take the heat\” (and should never have gone \’into the kitchen\’ in the first place) — Fox News and his base are able to spin him into a victim — someone who only needs to be given a chance to succeed. His apologists are legion…
Ironically, this Absolute Failure (at everything he has attempted to do [which includes golf]) has some innate ability to vanquish his attackers — using some aspect of the attacker against them.
I mean, we don\’t even hear about Carly Fiorina, or Stormy, or James Comey, or Rex Tillerson, or Michael Cohen, or even this new accuser, E. Jean Carroll, anymore: the Donald is able to knock them all out of the ring with comments about hair, intelligence, not-his-type, or, name calling (like Pocahontas). I\’m still amazed that he\’s never had blowback from any of the hundreds of casino workers and contractors he has ripped off. Could he dismiss all-of-them by simply calling them Losers?
He\’s already handled a new threat by congressional women of color by labeling them The Squad! With this clever framing (a Stephen Miller crafting no doubt) the Donald has The Squad being equated with anti-American terrorists. He\’ll get them collectively or, one-by-one — as there will be no one equivocating for them (like His base does for Him). In the end, these \”America Haters\” will get what they deserve — if they\’re not sent back to wherever it is they belong — beforehand. I really thought the \”Love it or Leave it\” mentality was a mindset of the past…but I guess not for Hulk Trump and his minions.
My second favorite president (after Abraham Lincoln) had this to say about criticizing the office of the president:
To announce that there must be no criticism of the president,
or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong,
is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to
the American public (Theodore Roosevelt).
So I shall become the first to stop dissing him — in the attempt to take away his Hulk-ability of becoming ever stronger with attacks.
And I ask other critics of the Donald (particularly Samantha Bee) — who caught my attention recently by speaking of \”creaming her jeans\” on her show — to consider my words: He only gets stronger with our attacks! Can you imagine how much strength the Donald will derive from an attractive woman talking about creaming her jeans in reference to Him?! (It\’ll be spun THAT WAY, Samantha!)
This all came-to-a-head for me the other night after I watched an old Star Trek episode that had a Being fomenting discord and violence between the crew of the Enterprise and a Klingon crew. Captain Kirk (of course) finally learned that if this Being was ignored and laughed at — it lost its power and shrank away!
I can\’t remember the name of the episode or the particular Stardate (I even went through my entire Star Trek collection trying to find it?) Perhaps one of my readers can provide me the specifics?
So, I highly recommend that we stop acknowledging this Fool and his fellow Republicans in our attacks: these attacks somehow make him strongly credible to his base and other Fox Zombies who absolve the Donald of any-and-all wrong-doing while excoriating the whistle blowers and people of conscience.
It is time to laugh at all-of-them and tell them to \”get lost.\”
I feel fine making this my last Trump article. Readers, I\’m serious this time — I\’m cured — particularly after reading Paul Krassner\’s obituary [if only he and George Carlin were still around]). Now that many have arrived to the place I was at (the Teddy Roosevelt citation was from a Times Letters\’ contributor) — let us unite in ridicule!
The mighty Gary Trudeau\’s 7/21/19 Doonesbury saw the Donald referred to as a \”cornered rat,\” aptly acknowledging the fierceness of a creature in that predicament and knowing that the Donald-Hulk will smash his way out of the many corners he is in — leaving it ultimately to Putin to decide how things will play out…Why oh why do Republicans think Putin will treat them as well as Trump does?
But finding myself in agreement with Thomas Friedman on Anderson Cooper\’s 7/22/19 show makes me think I\’m onto something with this ridicule thing! Friedman suggests that we begin calling the Donald: Trump the Chump as a method of diffusing/defusing him.
This is only the second time I\’ve ever agreed with Friedman — but he apparently also recognizes the need to do The Chump differently — because the methods we\’ve been employing to reign him in have not worked.
Come on Mueller! Block those gamma rays!! Let\’s weaken this Hulk so he can be contained!!!
I for one will ignore the bastard from-now-on and devote my energies to more important concerns — like the crazy Los Angeles County Sheriff trying to emulate The Chump!
