November 22, 2020 (The 57th Anniversary of JFK\’s Assassination)
If my Mother is an indicator — then 20-30 million votes that were cast for Donald Trump were not really votes for Him inasmuch as they were votes to prevent a potential Kamala Harris presidency from ever occurring (should something untoward happen to Sleepy Joe).
And I\’m willing to agree with my Mother on this one — so let\’s say 25 million misogynists and racists might have voted for Sleepy Joe if he\’d chosen a vibrant, White, male centrist as his running mate.
So, if we were to deduct about 25 million from Trump\’s grand popular vote total — we are left with about 49 million Trumpeters — which is probably close to the 40% he has commanded all along. Definitely not close to half the voting electorate. Certainly not a mandate!
Don\’t get me wrong — I am no Kamala fan. In fact I have written elsewhere that she had no business running for the presidency this time around. She barely got her feet wet as a senator!? (But at least she has an education and a few public service credentials going for her — unlike Trump.)
Neither am I a Biden fan (after listening to that \’We got Osama\” refrain ad nauseam) — but I would prefer a potato head uttering that phrase in the White House daily than one-more-day of Trump.
I\’ve been reading and listening to everything I can since the election — and I\’m not hearing anyone talking about the Kamala Factor because — of course — it will smack of racism and the misogyny it most certainly is!
The Republicans are wailing and gnashing their teeth that a woman of color could assume the American presidency (will we call her \’Momma\’ as Mike Pence so affectionately refers to his wife?).
We already know what a Black person\’s presence in the White House can do to the Republican Party: it makes them nastier than they already are! Black people in the White House proliferate Republican hate much like…much like…much like a virus!
I too hope that Sleepy Joe (who hasn\’t sounded that sleepy as-of-late, thank god) survives his term and that his successor is someone \”other\” than Kamala. That\’s right — I\’ve said it before and I\’ll say it again: Kamala Harris is not ready to be president of US (but neither was Trump). I think she\’ll make a fine vice president — but we still need someone with more experience and wider appeal to emerge from the Democratic Party.
The fact that the Democrats let Joe select Kamala suggests that they are growing some balls, however!
This pairing could have been a suicidal move on the Democrats\’ part with many more millions voting as my Mother did. But it has played out so far…perhaps this is a sign that US is turning the corner towards a social democracy — which is the only realistic way for a country to be run, and, to behave.
I have written elsewhere that capitalism requires a never-ending consumer base — so that the rich can feed upon the poor. It really isn\’t a realistic form of government — it\’s just another disguise for the privileged few
I am also sick of hearing this bullshit regarding the radical socialist Left! Just because a thinking person should despise EVERYTHING that is Donald Trump (because he is beyond disgusting) doesn\’t mean we are communists and dedicated to bringing down Mom and apple pie. Rather, we oppose an autocratic state.
Come on Joe Mama! Let\’s see how you clean up that swamp!
