Reborn

August 12, 2022

Just-about-a-year-ago I closed the doors to The Doctor\’s Inn where I had published my musings for fourteen years.  Was it COVID induced brain fog?  Or, was I just slowing down as I approached my Medicare birthday?

At that time I suggested that I would be testing out the video realm to see how I might make my impact on the world of You Tube.  Anyone who has been checking in at the old site may have followed my You Tube link to that site and would see that there was a single test video — and that\’s all that has happened with it.  My son\’s break-up with his whiz bang social media girlfriend help didn\’t help me…

I truly thought that I would never write another essay and would already be podcasting to a new, and captivated, audience.

But now in retirement from University lecturing (and all the dreaded grading that went with it) — I realize that I have the time to do both.

I did manage to get onto Twitter — and can be found on the thenewdrsinn.  A-couple-of-well-read friends suggested that they will continue to refuse to read my Tweets because writing to a set number of characters is writing sacrilege!  I\’m actually enjoying trying to come up with a \”haiku-styled\” process for generating my Tweets, however.  And I never Tweet from the porcelain throne!  One can only talk shit from that podium.

But the #1 reason I am returning to my essays is because my producer and chief motivator (and hopefully friend for the past 14 years [longer if we count time spent together before collaboration on The Doctor\’s Inn]) — has Stage 4 cancer.

He is planning on fighting it — and since I\’m no longer obligated to anyone or anything (Wife Giti excepted) — I feel I should help him with this fight.

Sure, I have selfish reasons for wanting him to kick this thing — because there has been no one who will patiently explain the process of posting or archiving in quite the same way he does.  Many-a-time he has had to take control of my computer screen to walk me through the process (and very many other times he also supplied the wine!).

But that\’s me talking.

His reason for staying with us is that he and his lovely Wife have created the most loving Family I have ever been around!  I have never seen such well-mannered children in my life (even though they are now teenagers).  And this family plays together, literally!  His Son and Daughter are excellent athletes and everyone has a bicycle!

His Wife has had a-couple-of-rounds with cancer but has been in remission for-quite-awhile- now.  So He\’s got a great Coach in his corner and all-of-his Fans: Family, Friends and Co-Workers are cheering him on.  We can\’t let this Marvelous Man go — we all need and want him here!

Everything is possible my Friend.  You have been #1 on my prayer list since I learned of your condition — and I pray the spirit world denies you entry for a-long-time-to-come.

Stay with Us!
