Big Pharma

Finally, the newspaper editorials are starting to cover what I’ve been saying for years, which is: that Big Pharma controls the medical and mental health fields.  Thankfully, quite a few others have joined my anti-medication fold, particularly a very bright lady by the name of Gwen Olsen (who I gather worked as a pharmaceutical rep for a number of years and is now — blowing the whistle on these carnivores).

I always start my psychotherapy classes with the aforementioned advisory, and, I ask my students to become advocates for the children that many doctors and psychiatrists have no trouble giving chemical lobotomies to.  Recently, I’ve used the Gwen Olsen You-Tube video snippet to scare the beejeebies out-of-my-students (with regards to the dangers of medication).  But the pharmaceutical companies (always a-few-steps-ahead-of-the-rest-of-us) have figured out a new method of massively increasing the bodies they feast on; and that is: allowing psychologists to also prescribe medication.  As mentioned, heretofore — the only professionals who could prescribe medication (those nasty drugs ‘legal’ drugs) – were medical doctors and psychiatrists.

Bringing in a new cadre of desperate drug dispensers/dealers, i.e., new marriage and family therapists and psychologists (‘desperate’ because of the competition over an-ever-shrinking pie) will augment drug sales astronomically.  Like I’ve said elsewhere – Americans love their drugs.

I have gone on the record suggesting that when I returned to the U.S. in 1974 (from South Africa) – to get my high school diploma here – it seemed like close to 90% of the country was smoking pot (the real figure was probably closer to 70%) – but, at the time, it sure seemed like 9-out-of-10 Americans partook of cannabis.  Elsewhere I’ve reported on the casualties Mexico has incurred – supplying the U.S. with her street drugs (while poor Canada feuds with Big Pharma to supply Americans more cheaply with those necessary, but useless, prescription drugs).

I just heard a radio report this morning that suggested that men receiving treatment for “mild” prostate cancer fair-no-better than men who receive NO TREATMENT at all (which makes perfect sense to me…as the sugar pill can cure all…).

I think my students finally understand what I learned years ago (from all of those Filipino dissertations I edited back in my ‘SC days) – that Big Pharma’s “test subjects” are from third world countries, or, from prisons.  And children without 2 responsible adults guiding them through life – are going to fall victim to Big Pharma one-way-or-another: either they’re going to get the legal stuff that lobotomizes them, or, they are going to find some “street stuff” that Big Pharma will probably control someday as well.  Either way – the children “on meds”; remain guinea pigs for Big Pharma.

Here’s to the numerous lawsuits coming down the road against Big Pharma – as folks taking their prescription medications mix them with whatever else they are partaking of in our ever-growing anomie – and either O.D., or, flip out.
