I work with an amazing fellow who earns his money as a groundskeeper – yet comes from a-700-year-old English family, and, is very “in touch” with what is happening with the planet – our dear, Earth Mother.
During our usual 2012 discussions — Mr. W informed me of Haliburton’s new method of natural gas extraction known as “fracking.” I gather that this extraction process involves highly toxic material that is almost certain to poison any-and-all ground water. Mr. W went on to suggest that Haliburton is already importing potable water to at least a-couple-of-towns and that New York is seeking to ban this particular method of natural gas extraction in their state. Interestingly, Haliburton seems to control the patent/monopoly of this method of fuel extraction.
When the BP oil well blew in the Gulf – I’m pretty sure that I told my readers that I called my Mother and blamed the disaster on her “buddy,” that dear old, heartless man, Dick Cheney (she has since ‘divorced’ him suggesting that she never liked him [though I’m pretty sure I’ve got her repeated defenses of him captured in ink elsewhere]). Now Mr. W and I have begun discussing the latest smoking gun in American politics (did Sirhan Sirhan really fire the gun that killed Robert Kennedy?).
So let’s see what we have here: Haliburton finishes “cement” work on the doomed rig; Obama suspends off-shore oil drilling (in-the-meantime – there is another Gulf oil accident); and, Haliburton subsequently controls a monopoly on natural gas extraction. But it’s always just coincidence – isn’t it? I mean, I don’t know that Haliburton visited the other oil rig accident at all.
Actually – I’m not that concerned as to whether-or-not there is a smoking gun here – I’m more concerned that Haliburton has no qualms despoiling the water and land of the United States – just like they weren’t afraid to rake in millions of American tax dollars to accomplish nothing in Iraq. Who are these people that Dick Cheney takes such loving care of – and they, in turn, must take very, very good care of him.
Of course Mr. W also talks about that big asteroid headed our way (of ‘Armageddon’ fame) – and I don’t know if I can always get worked up about the stuff he tells me…but he did show me articles on this whole “fracking” business. I mean how many Americans are going to get sick over this stuff – and why does Cheney aid-and-abet such internal terrorism? Because destroying our environment has got to be considered environmental terrorism, doesn’t it? Gouging the American tax payer has got to be industrial terrorism, doesn’t it? Fight ‘em over there so we don’t have to fight them over here? I’d say they keep sending our young men “over there” to keep the focus off of what’s happening here (recall that I suggested ‘American Idol’ was created for a similar purpose: to amuse us to death).
I just read an article that told a sad tale of 7 dead American servicemen – all from a single, high school here in California. I still wish Cheney had his turn in Viet Nam – if he hadn’t been shot by his own troops in friendly fire – perhaps he would have come home and been labeled a baby killer (which he is anyway). Perhaps then, he would not have had the opportunity to amass the power he has acquired today.
But why does he continue to take revenge on the U.S.: the U.S. that has given him everything? Is he “fracking” to get back at Obama? Is he truly that evil? Elsewhere I have described Dick as Satan on earth – so I guess he has no remorse for anything! How much longer can that ticker last?!
If I ever win the lotto and have the opportunity to form a Think Tank to create a first strike against the Haliburtons and Cheneys and combat internal terroris – my first invitee will be Mr. W…just hoping that the water in our tank will be breathable…
