This is usually my favorite time of the year — when I get to watch exciting NCAA basketball! And now this !@#$% coronavirus has laid waste to the tournaments! As-a-matter-of-fact, there are no sports left to watch — unless you count horse racing as a sport (and I hope you don\’t!). Even the Dodgers home opener — in the year that is supposed to be ours — has been postponed!
Don\’t get me wrong, I feel for the families of victims of this virus (and certainly stricken individuals suffering from it) — but more people seem to get better than become worse?! I DID recently hear, however, that the virus can cause permanent lung damage.
Friend Brian sent over a recent Dent Report (Dent is an American economist) that suggested that the flu will infect millions and kill about 340,000 this year — whereas COVID-19\’s mortality numbers pale in comparison! As of this writing — 80 Americans have succumbed to the virus (at least 42 of them in Washington State.
I\’m no expert, and far be it from me to second guess the medical experts — but I kind-of-sided- with-Trump initially — in that this is no big deal. And I\’m still not sure that it is — even if Trump has declared a national emergency.
The art of politics lies in governments getting you to look in the direction \”they\” want you to look: deflecting our attention so that we are not aware of what is \”really\” going on.
And what is really going on? Something big I think!!
Friend Clive sent over an article suggesting that the Chinese were experimenting with the coronavirus back in 2015. We all know that US have a trade war going on with them — and some of US remember that the Chinese would like to replace the international greenback with their yuan. And the stock market crashed by 20% this past week (and as of today\’s writing –even harder today — [after a mini rally on Friday]). And very few of US pay attention to the Chinese-built infrastructures in many countries around the world — particularly in mineral rich Africa…
Something big is about to happen.
I never knew that the Russians were the #3 producers of oil on the planet after US and the Saudis! Well, I\’ve recently learned that the Russians kept their oil production purposely low to allow US to do more fracking here at home (when this deal was made I do not know). But now the Russians have had a spat with the Saudis and reportedly will increase their oil production –directly impacting US oil production.
Something big is brewing! Things are going to change for the worse — in big, ugly fashion!
As the Wicked Witch of the West said: \”What a world, what a world!\” (Not to forget that The Wizard of Oz is an economic allegory.)
And what is it with all of these toilet paper purchases?! We know that the virus lives on feces longer than on other hosts — but there are many ways to clean your ass! And as long as my beloved Times is delivered — I\’ll have plenty of toilet paper. My theory on the apparent need for toilet paper is that US don\’t want to become another shithole country!
Or is it the Zombie Factor that is contributing to hoarding the Charmin? I don\’t even know if zombies ever need to take a shit — but by the Zombie Factor, I intimate that all zombies walk around doing the same thing — as if they\’ve all been programmed to do so (and we\’ve had allotta zombie TV shows and movies as-of-late!)
What if the lumber industry has programmed US to think that toilet paper can pull us through this crisis (so that they can engage in more deforestation) and we follow this unconscious programming, like zombies? Son Austen put this idea into my head…
Very few of my readers follow USC basketball like I do — but a few weeks back — Nick Rekocevic and has roommate, Jonah Matthews, became sick (Nick much more so than Jonah — as Nick reportedly dropped 16lbs. in 2 days!). USC played in Washington on January 2nd and 5th. Nick and Jonah were sick in the Oregon series on January 23rd and 25th…
Son Nick, who lives in Seattle, had a head cold this New Year that he couldn\’t shake for 2 weeks. Brother Paul (who works for Wilson Sporting Goods [owned by the Chinese]) went to the doctor for a condition that was novel for him.
I think the COVID-19 has been around well before the whistle blower blew his whistle (and then died).
Something big is about to happen!
Is May Madness too much to hope for???
