What I forecast weeks (even months) ago was finally held up to-the-sharp-light-of-day — the president of US is a Benedict Arnold. And like Arnold, he may flee from our shores (not to England of course). Other Tories (notably fascist Rand Paul) — probably won\’t be so lucky.
I have to admit to my readers that since November 8, 2016 — I have been fucked up. I have yet to escape from the fog of His presidential victory. Even moreso — I can\’t escape the fact that close to 50% of this country wants Him to be their president (give or take 3-4 million Californians). I grow tired of bitching about Him — because the shit doesn\’t stick to FOX and White House talking points.
Let me see if I can delve into another aspect that could potentially turn-the-tide (though I do think He is a dead man walking when he fucks with The Federal Reserve [our home grown cartel])…
Perhaps persistent school shootings will finally wake the unconscious 50% to help rein this wild and woolly country in — particularly since it seems that the NRA has been engaged in money laundering! (It seems that so many people are laundering money these days — that the crime should be reduced to a misdemeanor…)
I have but one problem with the comparison I wish to make: Florida and Texas have reacted quite differently to their respective school massacres!
On February 14, 2018 a Little Shite killed 17 and wounded 17 more at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. I will not delve into the White gunperson\’s psyche in this attempt (I have tried to do this elsewhere) — but rather — I am interested in the reorganization of the school and community: particularly with the Survivors Movement that preaches more stringent gun control with a colorful cast of student speakers and faculty back-up. I have also applauded their attempts elsewhere.
On May 18, 2018 — at Santa Fe High School in Texas — 10 were killed and 13 wounded. Interestingly, no such survivors movement for gun control emerged from this school massacre — also perpetrated by, you guessed it, another White male teenager (or Little Shite, as I have suggested above).
Was it too close to the end of the school year (and hunting season) for the dispirited and disenfranchised of Santa Fe H.S. to find a reason to rally? Did Marjorie Stoneman Douglas\’s survivors neglect to reach out to Santa Fe H.S. survivors? Did Santa Fe H.S. students and faculty think to reach out to their Florida counterparts with regards to grieving and healing? Or, do Texans still remember the Alamo, and consequently, identify with more liberal gun laws (laws that the Trump Supreme Court acolyte, Kavanaugh, will certainly maintain and potentially ease for future shooters)?
Git ready folks! We\’re goin\’ back to the Wild, Wild West — but this time we\’ll be able to sport semi-automatics instead of mere six shooters on our hips. Future duels will probably require that Jeopardy reflex as opposed to being a crack shot.
I had half hoped that a larger, stronger and more vocal group of gun control advocates and survivors of shootings would emerge to give their testimonials around the country this Summer (particularly after the Santa Fe massacre)…but, as I forecasted some weeks back — these voices tend to fade into the cultural tapestry of Americana — absorbed in a fabric of madness and denial.
It\’s odd that both Florida and Texas were both members of the confederacy — yet responded to the massacres quite differently. Could it be the influx of Baby Boomers into the retirement Mecca of US that has Floridians a bit more concerned about their grandchildren and less apt to kowtow to the NRA? Or, have Texans developed that Alamo-siege mentality — that only guns \’n\’ Trump can redress?? I seem to remember a terrible church shooting in Texas not too long ago…was one of the proffered solutions to arm churchgoers like we should be arming teachers?
