And here I thought that Jerry was a defender of the people — The Sheepherder keeping Californians safe from the Wall Street Wolves. Come to find out — Jerry\’s a wolf himself (or getting senile at a rapid clip) and ready to throw the weakest of US to his pack…
Taxation without representation! The clarion call of the American Revolution is back in our political lexicon. A new gas tax and increased car registration rates were never voted on by the California populous — they were decided on by Jerry and the Wolfpack — knowing that Californians will pay exorbitant sums for our sunshine.
Once-upon-a-time, Jerry and I agreed-on-a-few-things — but since his second term — he has been getting progressively, er, non-progressively out-of-control.
There was a time that I didn\’t think legalizing pot was a wise decision for California — what with so many cars-on-the-road. Then I realized that most drivers are usually stuck in the parking lots that are our freeways — so why not allow people entertainment and the illusion that they are moving? I changed my position on legalization — Jerry didn\’t.
Jerry hasn\’t agreed with me on the bullet train either. More-and-more of the Letters to my beloved Times suggest what a terrible idea this train is. Jerry doesn\’t seem to think so. Sentient Californians know that this project (benefitting whom?) is destined to go way over budget (it already is and IT\’S STILL IN ITS INFANCY). But it looks like Jerry is more interested in feeding the pack than protecting his sheep.
My Readers know that I want CALI to break away from the Union. I have since learned that the Feds own 48% of the State. This state-of-affairs would not make for an easy split…
As I suggested earlier in this attempt, I wrote an essay awhile back suggesting that Jerry is getting senile. Don\’t get me wrong. I don\’t wish Alzheimers or senility on anyone — I was simply hoping that if he had one-of-these-two-conditions — that those who love him, and, California — might begin to take a larger role in his thinking and nudge him towards decisions that would impact the taxpayer more positively.
Alas, his current influences during his second term don\’t seem to be coming from the people who care about California. They seem to be coming from the Wolfpack of bankers and developers and anti-environmentalists…unless…unless …unless Governor Moonbeam has fallen from the sky and bumped his head!?
And now I hear that Jerry has stumbled upon an extra $1.5 billion in the coffers that he intends to use for child care. While I\’m in favor of taking care of the young children of working parents, I\’m wondering if the Brownster is counting the gas tax and car registration \”tax\” as part of this $1.5 billion windfall?
I must quickly admit that I lied when I said I was in \”favor\” of child care. This psychotherapist would rather see parents taking care of their children. From where I sit — it seems that if there are two working parents, one entire salary goes to paying for child care. Why not have vouchers for the stay-at-home-parent that equal what child care would cost?
You used to be the Dreamer, Jerry. You used to be a Visionary. Why do I have to supply you with reasons to halt the bullet train and how to do child care properly?
Is it because you\’re running with the pack?
