Why Can\’t I Find These Things Any More?

March 14, 2016

While I am still able to watch the JFK assassination video (and have seen the new potentially \’doctored\’ version where the chauffer of the limousine turns around and shoots JFK at point blank range) I can no longer locate these gems

The Original ADD Article: Anyone reading me from Day One knows that this was the article that started off \”The Doctor\’s Inn.\”  My then supervisor, the legendary Dr. Carlfred Broderick, gave me a photocopy of an article submitted to a national education journal by a grade school teacher talking about a new condition she was witnessing in her students — which she elected to call Attention Deficit Disorder.  The reason Carlfred wanted me to read it was because the article was a poorly researched pile of shit and he wanted me to be aware of the weaknesses inherent in educational research.  I stupidly loaned my only copy of this article to a psychiatrist — who I\’m pretty sure absconded with it and/or destroyed it.  Suffice to say — I have never been able to find this article in any subsequent literature reviews.  And after A.D.D. was transmogrified into ADHD for the DSM III (and insurance reimbursement) — this funky little condition that affects boys almost exclusively has achieved bona fide disease status!

The Saddam Hit Squad sent to Kill Papa Bush: I know that the story was buried deep in my L.A. Times circa April 1993 (in the Clintons first few months in office [Yes, I think She has already been president for 8 years]).  It was a story about a 3-hour siege at the Bush family compound at Kennebunkport.  Saddam Hussein had apparently sent a hit squad of 21 men to take out George Herbert Bush, but the secret service deployed at Kennebunkport reportedly wiped them out to the last man.  I have researched this before on the internet and managed to find it — but now I can find no mention of it?!

Robert Gates and Making War: My sociology students found an interview of Robert Gates on TED, during which he talked about how he wasn\’t consulted on military decisions.  Because I wasn\’t sure if he was referring to US military incursions while he was Director of the CIA or later when he was the Secretary of Defense, I attempted to revisit this TED interview to better inform myself.  Now I can\’t find it?!

The Riots in D.C. for the First Dubya Coup, er, Election: I once watched a video of violent riots in D.C. following the first Dubya coup (also known as his first inauguration).  I wanted to show this footage of the president\’s limousine being rocked-up-and-down to my sociology students.  There may have also been some limousine \”egging\” (but I\’m not sure about this).  And I\’m sure you can guess: I can no longer find this footage!?

You\’d think a sociology professor would be able to back up his comments with actual footage/original sources — but I\’ve been failing miserably at this lately.  One thing I know I have never seen, and still can\’t locate, however — is the plane wreckage of AA 77 (you know, the one that hit The Pentagon).
