Your Tax Dollars (and Mine)

September 13, 2014

I have learned that if I use “key words” like Obamacare, or Hilary, or Time Warner Cable, in my essay titles — that the hits on my website are hugely augmented!  I wanted to call this essay “The Confidence Game”; or, “Inflation is Just Around the Corner” – but I was hoping that “Tax Dollars” would get me more hits – particularly after the record number of hits I received in the month of July.  I will certainly also try to use “sex” more often in my titles – since it still makes the world go round — whether we are talking about heads-of-state; or, Oscar Pistorius…

…and I really am sick-and-tired about hearing how my (and Your) tax dollars are spent.  Everywhere I turn I’m hearing some politician, activist or lawyer telling me how my tax dollars are being spent on weapons (usually for both sides); or the massacres of women and children; or on contraception; or on Monsanto; or on the subsidies to major corporations (like big oil); or on Israel; or on any puppet dictator in power; or on IRS parties…the list just goes on-and-on RE: the directions my (and Your) tax dollars take!

The fact of the matter is, is thanks to our American predilection of printing money out-of-thin-air – our tax dollars don’t amount to a hill-of-shit (or beans for that matter) — as we rapidly approach that $20 trillion deficit, I can only wonder unholy deal was struck with the Chinese (because they are certainly not stupid!).  Any thinking person has to realize that the US greenback is valueless – our dollar is simply a play thing for Boyz who still like to play monopoly.  National currencies remain a confidence game – there really is nothing backing them: not even gold (as I recently learned).

And now the BRICS economic consortium has been formed as an alternative to the greenback: Brazil; Russia; India; China; and, South Africa.  Warren Buffet and Bill Gates already invested in them when they shifted those many billions to India under the guise of charity some-years-ago (I’m betting some of these dollars were my tax dollars!).   And BRICS investments purportedly yield healthy dividends (often at 9%) – which Americans can’t seem to get here anymore…

And most ironically – the bulk of my tax dollars go to supporting Our military – which doesn’t do a very good job of supporting Their troops – particularly when the wounded return home!  I will address this further in “The Chickens are Still Coming Home to Roost.”

I began writing this article the day James Brady died – and while I’d love to get into the fascinating circumstances surrounding his head wound and ol’ Uncle Ronnie’s wounds, I can’t address it here (and I believe I may have already addressed this elsewhere).  But I am remain proud that my tax dollars (and Yours) went to Jim and Uncle Ronnie’s initial treatment and also to Jim’s long-term care.  Sadly, they also went to the extended hospitalization of Ralph Hinckley Jr. – who as I understand – is either back home with his mother – or, gets extended visitations to the family home on Our tax dollars.

I can’t wait to hear the rhetoric about Our tax dollars come November elections…
